Jing had gradually settled into life at Cambridge. She wasn’t exactly keen on walking all the way from Fitzwilliam to some random senior’s room just to play Mahjong – but wait, there’s still a Trinity this far west?
As Jing spent more time with Xiangyu – studying in the library till 3am, him picking her up after lectures, and even showing up at her college at 1am just to comfort her – the little moments drew them closer, until friendship quietly turned into something more…

Xiangyu moved to the west site of Trinity to be closer to his department. He kept his routine of hosting board game nights in his room, though this time more of his guests came from the Hill Colleges than the city centre.
As Xiangyu got to know Jing better through board games, comic con and the stage play she performed in, he gradually fell in love with her. With a little help from a mutual friend who played Cupid, he finally took the leap and opened up his heart…

Jing had just met her Cambridge offer conditions while finishing Sixth Form in York. A senior nicknamed “Big Cat“ warmly, if not a little abruptly, congratulated her and invited her to the freshers’ OCamp.
Shortly after Jing and Xiangyu got together, lockdown began, and the two new lovebirds were caged in Cambridge. Despite being isolated from family and friends, the empty city offered an irreplaceable opportunity for them to love and support each other.

Jing and Xiangyu moved in together after graduating from Cambridge. Their new life was full of uncertainty with job searches and PhD applications, but they believed that everything would be fine as long as they had each other. They decided to get married – perhaps already knowing they would on the very night they first confessed their love.
